Basketball Recap: Whiteford Has No Trouble Against Sand Creek

Whiteford won the last time they faced Sand Creek and things went their way on Thursday too. Everything went the Whiteford Bobcats' way against the Sand Creek Aggies as the Whiteford Bobcats made off with a 49-27 win. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 161st, while the Aggies are ranked 549th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the defeat, Sand Creek had strong showings from Carley Allen, who posted 15 points and eight rebounds, and Payton Steinke, who had nine points. The dominant performance also gave Steinke a new career-high in assists (four).

Whiteford is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.0 points per game. As for Sand Creek, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-9.

Whiteford has already played their next matchup (against Hudson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sand Creek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 20-14 defeat against Gorham Fayette on the 20th.
