Football Recap: Champaign Central Takes a Loss

Champaign Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Peoria Notre Dame Irish, falling 58-26. The Maroons were not able to make up for their loss to the Irish from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Champaign Central lost, don't look at Ziyir Aker. Despite the final result, he rushed for 195 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Aker really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run.

Champaign Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Peoria Notre Dame, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
