The matchup between Tellico Plains and Sweetwater on Wednesday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Bears fell 12-7 to the Wildcats. The Bears' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Kadence Moses spent all 11 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and five unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Addison Joines and Skyler Day stepped up to the plate in a big way. Joines went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one double, while Day went 2-for-6 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Isabella Wright was another key player, going 1-for-5 with two stolen bases and three RBI.

Tellico Plains' loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Sweetwater, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-3.

Looking ahead, Tellico Plains will venture away from home to square off against Polk County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sweetwater, they will square off against Concord Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
