Softball Recap: Eastchester's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Eastchester dropped their record down to 13-7 on Sunday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the White Plains Tigers by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Sabrina Cosgrove spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

As for White Plains, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 17-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games.

On White Plains' side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Alexis Tighe gave up only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, White Plains saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noelle Quinones, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double. That's the most hits Quinones has posted since back in April.

As of now, neither Eastchester nor White Plains have any future games scheduled.
