Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Stratford's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Stratford won the last time they faced Cypress Falls and things went their way on Friday too. The Spartans blew past the Eagles 10-4. Considering the Spartans have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Layla Yslas was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth McGuire, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Stratford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cypress Falls only posted a batting average of .267.

Stratford is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cypress Falls, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-16.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Stratford is set to challenge their familiar foe Cypress Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cypress Falls will square off against rival Cy-Fair at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
