Softball Recap: IC Catholic Prep's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If IC Catholic Prep was feeling good fresh off their 8-2 takedown of St. Bede on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Timothy Christian Trojans on Monday. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Madelynn Dinino put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, Lexi Hoffman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sofia Bucaro, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

IC Catholic Prep's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-12. As for Timothy Christian, their record is now 12-6.

Coming up, IC Catholic Prep is taking a road trip to take on Fenwick at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Timothy Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wheaton Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
