Baseball Recap: Mount Abram Has No Trouble Against Sacopee Valley

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Mount Abram had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Sacopee Valley Hawks with a sharp 6-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Roadrunners, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Logan Dube, who gave up just two hits to keep Sacopee Valley off the board. Dube has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ash Rollins, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May. Another player making a difference was Kaiden Longley, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Mount Abram is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Sacopee Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Looking ahead, Mount Abram will take on Old Orchard Beach on Saturday. The Seagulls will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Roadrunners surely won't give up without a fight. Sacopee Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
