Softball Recap: Hampshire Comes Up Short

Hampshire was the 11-7 winner over Crystal Lake Central when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Whip-Purs fell 16-13 to the Tigers on Friday.

Hampshire's defeat dropped their record down to 20-10. As for Crystal Lake Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Hampshire and Crystal Lake Central should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Whip-Purs (ranked 95th) will meet Geneva (ranked 322nd) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Crystal Lake Central will challenge Harvard at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (60 vs. 214).
