Football Recap: Roane County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Cumberland County last Thursday, Roane County came back down to earth. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Sweetwater Wildcats by a score of 21-19 on Friday. The Yellowjackets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in September of 2022.

When it comes to explaining why Roane County lost, don't look at Taeshuane Hamilton. Despite the final result, he rushed for 214 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 33 receiving yards.

Roane County's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Sweetwater, the win also got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Roane County will head out to take on Austin-East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sweetwater, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Meigs County at 7:30 p.m. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
