Basketball Recap: Bear Creek Falls to Meridian in First Game of Season

Bear Creek unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 67-66 to the Meridian Trojans. The Grizzlies haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Max Beiber, who went 11 of 22 en route to 27 points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Branch, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 18 points.

Bear Creek has already played their next game, a 71-40 victory against Tenino on the 4th. Meridian has also already played their next matchup, a 70-34 win against Mount Vernon Christian on the 5th.
