Monroe has gone a perfect 10-0 against Central Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Monroe Redhawks will host the Central Academy Cougars at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Monroe has three straight victories, Central Academy has 14 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Friday, Monroe was able to grind out a solid win over Parkwood, taking the game 60-49. Given the Redhawks' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while the Wolf Pack are ranked 454th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Monroe got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jamari Clark out in front who went 5 of 10 en route to 13 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Kaegan Chambers, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 14 points.

Monroe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Central Academy played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Forest Hills, falling 74-37. The Cougars were down 66-26 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Monroe's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Central Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-20.

Everything came up roses for Monroe against Central Academy when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 69-27 victory. Does Monroe have another victory up their sleeve, or will Central Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
