Softball Recap: Gateway College Preparatory Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Gateway College Preparatory's offense. They fell just short of the Salado Eagles by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. It was the first time this season that the Gators let down their fans at home.

Chloe Ellis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

Gateway College Preparatory's defeat dropped their record down to 19-2-2. As for Salado, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Gateway College Preparatory will take on rival Taylor at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Salado is set to challenge their familiar foe Jarrell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
