Volleyball Recap: Mt. Diablo Red Devils vs. Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles
Mt. Diablo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ugly Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-0, 25-9, 25-6.
Mika David was nothing short of spectacular for Clayton Valley Charter: she had ten aces and eight assists. Those ten aces gave David a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Izabela Markiel, who had 13 aces and four digs.
Mt. Diablo's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Clayton Valley Charter, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Mt. Diablo will venture away from home to face off against Pinole Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clayton Valley Charter, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Alhambra at 6:30 p.m. on the 14th.
