Basketball Recap: Silver Creek Comes Up Short

Silver Creek played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 65-42 to the Horizon Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Raptors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Hawks are ranked 27th).

Despite the loss, Silver Creek still got an impressive performance from Blake Gorr, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 12 points and four steals. Gorr has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Connor Bonsett also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

It was another big night for Boaz Wisne, who went 9 for 16 en route to 21 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals for Horizon. Another player making a difference was Noah Sokolowski, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

Silver Creek is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4. As for Horizon, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.

Silver Creek has already played their next match, a 57-50 loss against Holy Family on the 17th. As for Horizon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-53 victory against Broomfield on the 17th.
