Football Game Preview: Liberty Red Devils vs. Landrum Cardinals + Official Tickets

The Liberty Red Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Landrum Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Liberty will be strutting in after a win while Landrum will be coming in after a defeat.

Liberty will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up six points on October 3rd, then bounced right back against Chesnee on Friday. The Red Devils simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Eagles 35-6. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 23 points or more this season.

Liberty's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kendall Jackson led the charge by rushing for 104 yards and one TD on only ten carries. Jackson is becoming a predictor of the Red Devils' success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

Meanwhile, Landrum was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 56-14 defeat at the hands of Clinton. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-7.

Liberty pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.0 points over those games. As for Landrum, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Liberty strolled past Landrum when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 42-24. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
