Hilton Head Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ben Frey, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Another player making a difference was Jason Britschge, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, John Paul II had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 63-39 margin over Patrick Henry Academy. John Paul II has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.
Hilton Head Prep's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-5. As for John Paul II, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Hilton Head Prep against John Paul II in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 55-24 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hilton Head Prep since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
