Basketball Recap: Bellefontaine Comes Up Short

Bellefontaine fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Jonathan Alder on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 42-41 to the Jonathan Alder Pioneers. The Chieftains were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pioneers earlier this season, when they won 55-51.

Bellefontaine's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quinlan Zedeker, who posted 15 points along with six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabrielle Hoon, who put up six points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Bellefontaine smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Bellefontaine's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Jonathan Alder, their victory bumped their record up to 6-15.

Bellefontaine wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-36 defeat against Kenton on the 8th. As for Jonathan Alder, they have also already played their next contest, a 43-21 loss against Dublin Jerome on the 8th.
