Basketball Recap: Cimarron-Memorial Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cimarron-Memorial can now relate to. They were dealt a 69-17 defeat at the hands of the Somerset Academy Losee Lions on Monday. The matchup marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Somerset Academy Losee got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Heaven Thomas out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. Brianna Ballenger was another key player, going 5-for-10 to rack up 13 points and seven steals.

Cimarron-Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Somerset Academy Losee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

Cimarron-Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Somerset Academy Losee, they will take on Del Sol at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Dragons have now posted at least 55 points in their last seven matchups.
