Preview: Dayton Bulldogs vs. River View Panthers
Dayton has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. Having just played yesterday, they will head out on the road to face off against the River View Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Dayton suffered their biggest defeat since December 16, 2023 on Monday. They suffered a tough 55-29 loss at the hands of DeSales. Dayton was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-14.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Marissa Tupling, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lila Hutchens, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to River View, who are still winless after their seventh match. They were beaten by Columbia 52-16 last Saturday. While losing is never fun, River View can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while Columbia is ranked 156th).
Dayton's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for River View, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-7.
Dayton was taken down by River View 48-2 in their previous meeting back in December of 2017. Can Dayton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
