Softball Recap: Canterbury Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Canterbury can now relate to. They came up short against the Shorecrest Prep Chargers on Thursday, falling 8-2. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.

Cali Baust made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Evee Lavender, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Canterbury has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Shorecrest Prep, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-6.

As of now, neither Canterbury nor the Chargers have any future games scheduled.
