DePaul College Prep put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Schaumburg Saxons by a score of 7-4. While the Rams didn't have the best season last year (they finished 16-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Gavin Variano looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Joey Sacchetti was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Addison Latko, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

DePaul College Prep's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Schaumburg, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DePaul College Prep will venture away from home to face off against Glenbrook North at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Schaumburg, they will head out to challenge West Chicago at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Schaumburg is facing West Chicago at the right time seeing as West Chicago is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
