Basketball Recap: Liberty County Takes a Loss

Liberty County's tournament run continued when they took on Westover on Thursday. The Liberty County Panthers received a blow as they fell 47-33 to the Westover Patriots. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Westover got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sydney Donaldson out in front who posted 20 points along with eight boards and five steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Donaldson has scored at least a third of Westover's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiya Conway, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Liberty County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Westover, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Liberty County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 38-36 loss against Thomas County Central on the 20th. As for Westover, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 51-38 defeat against Dougherty on the 20th.
