Softball Recap: Farragut Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Gibbs

Farragut faced Gibbs in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Admirals fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 7-6. The Admirals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

Effy Armstrong and Rylee Raby did some serious damage despite the final result: Armstrong went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Raby went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Farragut's defeat dropped their record down to 24-10-1. As for Gibbs, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-3 record this season.

Farragut will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Maryville at 5:30 p.m. As for Gibbs, they will head out to take on Powell at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
