Soccer Game Preview: Clint vs. Bowie

Clint hasn't had much luck against Bowie recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Clint Lions will venture away from home to take on the Bowie Bears at 7:30 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Clint is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Ysleta, falling 4-0.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Bowie's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was San Elizario who was credited with the win. San Elizario got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Bowie's three. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 358th, while the Eagles are ranked 169th).

Bowie's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 5-4-1. As for Clint, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Clint suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Bowie when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Clint avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
