Basketball Recap: Frankford Triumphs

There's no place like home for Frankford, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 52-51 win over the Central Lancers. The Pioneers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lancers, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Frankford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brandon Gage, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Gage has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Doron Ross, who went 7 of 10 en route to 15 points.

Frankford was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Central still got an impressive performance from Yamir Knight-Parker, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 20 points along with five boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Brown, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 11 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Frankford moved to 2-6 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. As for Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Frankford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-58 defeat against Science Leadership Academy at Beeber on the 19th. As for Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 58-35 loss against Paul Robeson on the 19th.
