The Copperas Cove Bulldawgs will head out on the road to square off against the Shoemaker Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Copperas Cove is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Copperas Cove's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Friday, when they got past Harker Heights' usually-dominant pitching crew. Copperas Cove put the hurt on Harker Heights with a sharp 11-1 win. Considering the Bulldawgs have won five contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Janell Gray made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Isabella Hunt and Laila LaCapra did most of the damage at the plate: Hunt scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while LaCapra scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Taylor Trimm also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Copperas Cove kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in seven consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Shoemaker made sure to put some runs up on the board against Bryan on Thursday. Shoemaker walked away with an 11-8 victory over Bryan. Considering the Wolves' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Shoemaker let Taylor McClinton and Nichole Clemente run wild. McClinton got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Clemente went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave McClinton a new career-high in RBI. Yanimarie Nieves was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
Shoemaker has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Copperas Cove's record now sits at 8-5.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Copperas Cove has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .515. However, it's not like Shoemaker struggles in that department as they've averaged .437. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
