Mendon extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Owen Gorham. The Hornets breezed past the Colon Magi to the tune of 50-7 on Friday thanks in part to Gorham, who rushed for 244 yards and four scores while picking up 15.3 yards per carry. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making five total tackles.

Mendon's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. Brayden Crites was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. Mendon received some extra help from Crites, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Mendon's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Colon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Coming up, Mendon will venture away from home to face off against Bellevue at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Broncos will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last. As for Colon, they will be playing at home against St. Philip Catholic Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Magi will be up against the Fighting Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 45 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
