Football Game Preview: Falls City Beavers vs. Charlotte Trojans

Falls City is a perfect 5-0 against Charlotte since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Beavers will face off against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Things were looking good for Falls City after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 21-14 to Shiner. While losing is never fun, the Beavers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 734th, while the Comanches are ranked 327th).

Falls City might have lost, but man, Braylon Johnson was a machine: he rushed for 210 yards and one touchdown while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. Johnson's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards.

Meanwhile, Charlotte played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Yorktown 61-16. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-16.

Falls City's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-4. As for Charlotte, they now also have a losing record of 3-4.

Everything came up roses for Falls City against Charlotte in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 51-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beavers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
