Baseball Game Preview: Washington County Bulldogs vs. St. Luke's Episcopal Wildcats

For the second straight game, Washington County will face off against St. Luke's Episcopal. Washington County will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Luke's Episcopal at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Washington County will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating St. Luke's Episcopal, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Washington County narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past St. Luke's Episcopal 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since February 14th.

Landon Dearmon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Washington County is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-11 otherwise.

At the plate, Washington County's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Bell, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Washington County's win ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13. As for St. Luke's Episcopal, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-6.
