Football Recap: Aaden Ochoa Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat San Benito

United won the last time they faced San Benito and things went their way on Friday too. The Longhorns were the clear victors by a 31-10 margin over the Greyhounds. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Longhorns just coasted through the last quarter.

United's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaden Ochoa, who rushed for 42 yards and two TDs, and also picked up 60 receiving yards. Those 60 receiving yards gave Ochoa a new career-high. Juan Lopez was another key rusher, rushing for 95 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries.

Another reason for the win was United's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Moy Montemayor, Kaleb Cepeda, and Gabriel Gutierrez, who each picked up one sack apiece.

United now has a winning record of 2-1. As for San Benito, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

United didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 40-30 win against Weslaco on the 20th. As for San Benito, they have also already played their next matchup, a 21-3 defeat against Varsity Opponent on the 19th.
