Recap: John Marshall Justices vs. Landstown Eagles
The John Marshall Justices waltzed into their match Monday with four straight wins but they left with five. They blew past Landstown 93-58 at home. John Marshall's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
John Marshall got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Damon Thompson Jr out in front who scored 18 points. Desmon Rose was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds.
John Marshall's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 41.31 points. As for Landstown, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.
John Marshall will be home for the holidays to greet St. Anne's-Belfield at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Anne's-Belfield knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully John Marshall likes a good challenge. Landstown won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Kempsville at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Kempsville is ranked 88th, while Landstown is ranked 79th).
