Volleyball Game Preview: Clear Creek Wildcats vs. Atascocita Eagles

The Clear Creek Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Atascocita Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Clear Creek got the win against Brazoswood by a conclusive 3-0.

One reason for the win was Clear Creek's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-18, 25-10.

Clear Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elissa James led the charge by getting 17 digs and two aces. That's the most aces James has posted over her last six contests.

Meanwhile, Atascocita had already won 13 in a row and they went ahead and made it 14 on Friday. They came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 3-1.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-8, 26-28, 25-6.

Clear Creek's record now sits at 23-18. As for Atascocita, their record is now 25-7.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's matchup: Clear Creek has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 4.5 aces per game. However, it's not like Atascocita struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Clear Creek suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Atascocita in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
