Baseball Game Preview: Foresthill Wildfires vs. Sacramento Country Day Cavaliers

For the first time this season, Foresthill will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. They will head out on the road to face off against the Sacramento Country Day Cavaliers at 4:00 p.m. One thing working in Foresthill's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups.

Foresthill was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Delta on Monday. Foresthill put the hurt on Delta with a sharp 12-1 win. The Wildfires' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Cooper Stanowicz spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up seven Ks. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Foresthill let Hunter Byrum and David Silveira run wild. Byrum scored three runs and stole Four bases. while going 3-for-4, while Silveira scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. Byrum has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last ten times he's played. Abe Robenolt also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Sacramento Country Day didn't have quite enough to beat Highlands on Thursday and fell 10-9.

Ryan Pirie made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Lukas Altshuler, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Sacramento Country Day's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Foresthill, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
