Softball Recap: Chestatee Falls to Gilmer in Consecutive Matchups

Chestatee extended their losing streak to eight on Tuesday, dropping them down to 5-12. They fell 6-1 to the Gilmer Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-7 on August 27th.

As for Gilmer, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-11. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those three games.

For Gilmer's part, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braley Stewart, who went 1-for-3 while posting 2 RBIs and 1 run. Stewart has been locked in at the plate lately, hitting .636 over her last seven games vs .432 in her previous 13 games.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Chestatee is set to challenge their familiar foe North Hall at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Gilmer will square off against their in-conference opponent Pickens at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
