Softball Recap: East Hartford Hornets vs. South Windsor Bobcats
East Hartford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Windsor Bobcats. The Hornets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcats earlier this season, when they won 22-5.
Izzy Brito spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits.
On the hitting side, Eliana Tena made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Hernandez, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
East Hartford's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for South Windsor, their win bumped their record up to 4-17.
As of now, neither East Hartford nor the Bobcats have any future games scheduled.
