Baseball Recap: Wesley Chapel Comes Up Short

Wesley Chapel and Springstead squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Wesley Chapel had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Wildcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Wesley Chapel got a good showing from Chase Flemming, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Flemming a new career-low in walks (zero).

At the plate, Wesley Chapel saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Nguyen, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Wesley Chapel's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Springstead, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-10.

As of now, neither Wesley Chapel nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
