Football Game Preview: Kamiah Kubs vs. Raft River Trojans + How To Watch

The Kamiah Kubs will challenge the Raft River Trojans at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Kamiah is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging an 86-22 victory over Glenns Ferry. Winning may never get old, but the Kubs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kamiah to victory, but perhaps none more so than Everett Oatman, who rushed for 134 yards and two TDs, and also picked up 57 receiving yards and one score. That's the most rushing yards Oatman has posted since back in August of 2024. Lawson Landmark was another key signal caller, throwing for 206 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes.

Kamiah didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Glenns Ferry to a completion percentage of just 47.1%. That defensive display was nothing new: the Kubs have limited their opponent to a lower and lower completion percentage in three consecutive matchups.

Kamiah didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Gavin Schoening led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Landmark has been hot recently, having also posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, Raft River faced Hagerman in a battle between two of the state's top teams two weeks ago. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 42-20 margin over the Pirates. The Trojans pushed the score to 36-8 by the end of the third, a deficit the Pirates cut but never quite recovered from.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Treyce Ward and Ruger Ward. Treyce gained 84 total yards while Ruger rushed for 52 yards and a pair of scores.

Kamiah's record now sits at 8-1. As for Raft River, their record is now 6-2.

Kamiah suffered a grim 46-20 defeat to Raft River when the teams last played back in September of 2022. Can the Kubs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
