Softball Recap: Jackson-Reed Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Jackson-Reed can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They blew past the Cardozo Clerks 18-2. Considering the Tigers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Jackson-Reed let Alex Nehrer and Grace Harscheid run wild. Nehrer went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five stolen bases, and three runs, while Harscheid scored three runs and stole Five bases. while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave Harscheid a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalia Weinstein, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Jackson-Reed always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .852. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Jackson-Reed's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Jackson-Reed will challenge Roosevelt at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cardozo, they are taking a road trip to take on School Without Walls at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
