Basketball Recap: Northwest Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jack Vahey and Daniel Babber

Northwest Christian lost against Sound Christian back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Northwest Christian Wolverines came up short against the Sound Christian Lions, falling 81-61. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Daniel Babber and Jack Vahey certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Babber went 10 of 17 en route to 29 points and five assists, while Vahey went 9 for 14 on his way to 21 points and eight rebounds. The game was Babber's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Joseph Meier, who posted four points along with five assists and three steals.

It was another big night for Makai Resseau, who went 9 of 18 on his way to 31 points and five boards for Sound Christian. Those 31 points gave Resseau a new career-high. Avan Greenwood was another key player, going 7 for 11 en route to 18 points.

Northwest Christian's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Sound Christian, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4.

Northwest Christian will welcome Pope John Paul II on Tuesday. Northwest Christian is facing Pope John Paul II at the right time seeing as Pope John Paul II is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. Sound Christian has already played their next matchup, a 64-58 win against Puget Sound Adventist on the 30th.
