Softball Recap: Thurston Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Thurston put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the La Salle Falcons.

Kasey Ogan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Syren Ferguson, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Gabriella Montes was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Thurston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .353 or higher in five consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Thurston's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for La Salle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Coincidentally, Thurston and La Salle will both be playing St. Helens the next time they take the field. The Falcons will host the Lions at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, while the Colts will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
