Soccer Recap: Canton Comes Up Short

Canton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Washington Panthers, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Canton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 411th, while Washington are ranked 23rd).

Canton's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Washington, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-1-1.

Coming up, Canton will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against Kewanee at 4:30 p.m. As for Washington, they are taking a road trip to square off against Galesburg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
