The Kamiakin Braves will square off against the Southridge Suns at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Kamiakin had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Pasco on Tuesday. The Braves were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Bulldogs.

Lizzie O'Leary made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Harley Worster was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Analise Thomasson was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Southridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against Walla Walla on Tuesday as they made off with a 12-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Suns in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won five in a row.
Like Kamiakin, Southridge also got a great game from a two-way player: Avery Garvey. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Garvey was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Anna Marty and Jadyn Holdren did most of the damage at the plate: Marty went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Holdren got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Marty has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Rylinn Martinez, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.
Kamiakin's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Southridge, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
Southridge's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Kamiakin has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Southridge, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 strikeouts. Will Kamiakin keep running through batters, or will the Suns buck the trend?
Kamiakin suffered a grim 19-12 defeat to Southridge in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Braves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
