Volleyball Recap: St. Mary's Comes Up Short + How To Watch

St. Mary lost against Rye back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pirates came up short against the Thunderbolts, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-13, 25-17.

St. Mary's offense was headlined by Anna Collins and Shane Carter, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Abby Phillips and her 12 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

St. Mary's will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kent Denver at 3:00 p.m. on September 6. As for Rye, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Woodland Park at 6:30 p.m.
