Baseball Game Preview: Silsbee Tigers vs. Luling Eagles

The Silsbee Tigers will face off against the Luling Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Silsbee is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Silsbee is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Woodville get on the board and left with a 13-0 win on Tuesday. Considering the Tigers have won four matches by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Matsyn Morris made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Morris was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jackson Perdue and Brendon Hughes did most of the damage at the plate: Perdue scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Hughes scored three runs while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Mikey Moshier, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Luling had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 14-1 to Burton on Monday.

Silsbee's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Luling, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-1.
