Volleyball Recap: East Vikings vs. Downingtown West Whippets
East lost against Downingtown West back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Vikings lost 3-0 to the Whippets. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Vikings have suffered against the Whippets since October 10, 2019.
East took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-16, 25-19.
Sara Fatscher paced East's offense, picking up ten kills. Fatscher got some help from Katie McPeak and her 16 assists.
East has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Downingtown West, their win ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 8-3-1.
East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Kennett on the 1st. As for Downingtown West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Bayard Rustin on the 1st.
