Cherokee is 0-10 against Greeneville since December of 2016 but things could change on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the Cherokee Chiefs will jump right back in to play the Greeneville Greene Devils at 3:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Cherokee needed a bit of extra time to put away Claiborne. They secured a 51-45 W over the Bulldogs. The Chiefs haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Cherokee found their leader in freshman Addie Lawson, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards Lawson has posted since back in December of 2024. Meredith Moses was another key player, going 5-for-11 to rack up 14 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Greeneville didn't have too much trouble with Dobyns-Bennett on Tuesday as they won 55-39. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Greene Devils.

Cherokee better keep an eye on Kyla Jobe. She was instrumental in Greeneville's win, dropping a triple-double with 23 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Adkins, who put up seven points and eight boards.

Greeneville's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-10. As for Cherokee, their victory bumped their record up to 8-21.

Cherokee took a serious blow against Greeneville in their previous matchup on February 4th, falling 50-10. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Cherokee was down 36-6.
