The Westwood Redhawks will head out to square off against the Saluda Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Westwood easily dispatched Ridge View last Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Westwood fell just short of Providence Athletic Club by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Redhawks couldn't push the score so high this time.

Griffin Ella was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.
Meanwhile, Saluda entered their tilt with Strom Thurmond on Friday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They never let the Rebels get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Miller Martin made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Martin was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Martin, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Amy Sorcia was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
Saluda hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in three consecutive matchups.
Saluda pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Westwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Westwood came out on top in a nail-biter against Saluda in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, sneaking past 5-4. Will Westwood repeat their success, or does Saluda has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
