Volleyball Recap: Eureka Gets the Win

Eureka had to endure a three-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They won by a set and slipped past the Iola Mustangs 2-1. The game was the first time the Tornadoes have beaten the Mustangs on their court since October 1, 2020.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Eureka got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 22-25, 25-23.

Eureka can attribute much of their success to Kinlee Sanchez, who had nine digs.

Eureka was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They are 6-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Eureka's victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Iola, their loss dropped their record down to 6-17.

Eureka didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Fredonia on the 2nd. As for Iola, they will welcome Anderson County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
