Football Game Preview: Rosebud-Lott Cougars vs. Refugio Bobcats + How To Watch

Two dominant signal callers in Pryce Rabroker and Ray Lewis are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Rosebud-Lott Cougars will take on the Refugio Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Rosebud-Lott is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past San Saba 31-7. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won nine matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Refugio strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 35-23 win over Weimar. Those 35 points were actually the fewest the Bobcats have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Rosebud-Lott better keep an eye on Zander Wills. He was instrumental in Refugio's win, rushing for 128 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Wills was even better on defense, making 21 total tackles (4.0 for loss) and defending two passes. Another big playmaker for Refugio was Fabian Garcia, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Refugio was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 310 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 257 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Refugio didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Matthew Perez and Lewis. Lewis' rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 121 rushing yards. Another thorn in Weimar's side was Jason Delossantos, who made 15 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Refugio's victory bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Rosebud-Lott, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Rosebud-Lott has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 239.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Refugio struggles in that department as they've been averaging 358.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
