Baseball Game Preview: First Assembly Christian Crusaders vs. Millington Central Trojans

First Assembly Christian is a perfect 9-0 against Millington Central since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Crusaders are taking a road trip to take on the Trojans at 2:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

First Assembly Christian can't be too worried about heading out to take on Millington Central: they just beat White Station at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Crusaders were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Spartans on Thursday. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Christian Forrest, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ryker Minor, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

First Assembly Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .543 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Millington Central). They never let St. Benedict at Auburndale get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for the Trojans as it spelled an end to their 12-game losing streak.

First Assembly Christian's record now sits at 10-14-1. As for Millington Central, their record is now 3-20.

First Assembly Christian took their victory against Millington Central when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 8-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
